Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is well known for smoking up their barbecue in hickory wood, every single day. Our meats are freshly made to ensure you the same great quality and tastes that were originally found in 1941. A lot of people wonder and ask us how to smoke a brisket. It only took us years to perfect our smoked brisket recipe, giving you the most flavor, especially the brisket burnt ends and the bark. We proceed to place the brisket with the fat side up inside of our smoker, which is burning with hickory wood. We place a foil pan with water close to the firebox. While doing so, we aim to maintain the temperature of the smoke pit between 225 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
The other questions we get asked often, is how long we smoke our brisket for. The general rule for smoking a brisket is about 45-60 minutes for every pound the brisket weighs.
