Dickey's Barbecue Pit started its first family operated restaurant in Dallas, Texas in 1941 headed by Travis Dickey, a WWI veteran in the family. The menu was originally limited to ham, brisket, potato chips, beer, and sodas. By 1967, Roland and T.D. Dickey took over the family restaurant and the brothers continued to expand the quality of their BBQ menu. Our father's legacy of quality cooking reached the Dallas Fort-Worth area and expanded rapidly. Over family generations, Dickey's Barbecue Pit added more hickory smoked meats to the menu. Adding brisket, pulled pork, sausages, ribs, smoked turkey, marinated chicken, whole meats, meats by the pound, signature sides, desserts, and of course, the iconic Big Yellow Cup. Today, we are now offering a mouthwatering menu for dine in, carry out, curbside delivery and even catering services. We easily got recognized as the best BBQ in Dallas.
Even with more than 550 locations in 44 different states, our homestyle smoked meats and signature sauces did not change! We slowly smoke our meats the way our father did, back in 1941.
