A Look into Our No Gimmicks Campaign

You may be wondering, what exactly is a gimmick? Well, a gimmick is a trick intended to attract attention, publicity, or business. If you haven’t seen our new national TV spots, you’ve been missing out! Check it out here.
You’ll see at Dickey’s Barbecue, we pride ourselves on authentic barbecue slow smoked onsite at each restaurant which obviously means we don’t need gimmicks to sell our barbecue. Written by local comedy writer, Allison Connor, our new commercial titled, No Gimmicks stars our chairman, Mr. Dickey and our advertising expert, Edna. Our “ad expert” Edna recommended gimmicks like dressing up Mr. Dickey as a cowboy, clown, king, pig, turkey and even a biker!
We thought we’d share some of the behind the scene pictures:
Mr. Dickey all decked out as the king of barbecue
Just testing our the Turkey head with microphone -- “Can anyone hear me?”
Working on Mr. Dickey’s 5 o’clock shadow to make him the ultimate cowboy.
Edna and Mr. Dickey taking biking pretty seriously in all black.
Don’t forget to enter our “We Speak Barbecue” contest and tell us how you define barbecue using the hashtag #WeSpeakBarbecue. You can catch a couple people sharing how they define barbecue here.
