Dickey's Barbecue Pit is slated to open four new stores in Virginia over the next year, according to the most recently executed development agreement. Two of the new stores will be located in
Alexandria and Thornburg, and the last two sites are to be determined.
"Dickey's is expanding at a rapid pace throughout the United States,” said Roland Dickey Jr., CEO. "Especially on the eastern seaboard, Texas-style barbecue is becoming known and loved as a
different and delicious way to do barbecue."
An accountant of 27 years, Owner/Operator James Wright started his career with Dickey's when he purchased super majority ownership in the Fredericksburg store in May of 2015. He immediately
attended Dickey's four-week training course in Dallas, then assumed ownership of the store in June.
"Dickey's has provided training tools at every step of the process, which makes the learning curve much more manageable," Wrights said. "With Dickey's, I know I can build a successful business that
I will one day pass on to my son, all the while helping people in my community by providing employment opportunities."
