Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Plans Baton Rouge Store, Expands I-10 Locations

The Baton Rouge barbecue market could soon add another competitor.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, which has 550 locations in 43 states, has partnered with Lake Charles-based Marshland Foods LLC to open eight stores along the Interstate 10 corridor, including one in Baton Rouge.

Dickey’s franchisee Marshland will open its first Dickey’s in Lake Charles, with two to follow in Beaumont, Texas. In addition to Baton Rouge, Marshland plans locations in Pearland, Sugar Land, Cypress and Baytown, all in Texas. All of the stores are expected to open within five years.
