## Tailgating with the Vikings


Dickey’s brought their delicious barbecue experience straight to Minnesota Vikings fans during the tailgating festivities at the Vikings vs. Detroit Lions football game. Football enthusiasts enjoyed samples of Dickey’s smoked meats and creamy mac and cheese while learning about their catering services. They even featured a giant Vikings helmet for fans to snap memorable photos. Franchisee Hannah Davis expressed, “This was our first year bringing Dickey’s to Vikings tailgating, and we couldn’t be happier with the warm reception we received. We plan to make this an annual tradition!”
 
## Trunk or Treat in North Branch


Earlier this fall, Dickey’s was thrilled to participate in North Branch’s Trunk or Treat event, connecting with nearly 900 attendees. “We loved seeing all the costumes and the smiles on kids' faces,” said Davis. “Giving out treats like candy, branded frisbees, can koozies, and more allowed us to meet families, introduce them to our barbecue, and share our catering options. It was great exposure, and we’re excited to do even more next year!”
 
## Feeding and Thanking Our Local Heroes


At Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, supporting local heroes is at the heart of what they do. Hannah and her team recently had the honor of donating a classic buffet-style meal to the North Branch Fire Department during one of their monthly meetings. The 26 fire department members enjoyed a hearty spread that included smoked pulled pork, chopped brisket, mac and cheese, barbecue beans, baked potato casserole, cabbage slaw, and Texas toast. “We are beyond grateful for the dedication and service of our local first responders,” said Davis. “This meal was our way of showing our appreciation for their hard work in keeping our community safe.”

## Strategic Focus: Barbecue first
Dickey’s has taken on four key initiatives to celebrate 83 years in business 
 
1. Expanded Menu: the brand will launch a new expanded menu featuring southern favorites like crispy fried chicken, country fried steak, loaded mashed potatoes with gravy and three more loaded, stuffed baked potatoes to complement its traditional barbecue offerings that are smoked on site.
 
2. Restaurant Reinvestment: the brand launched a capital improvements campaign, heavily reinvesting in their traditional restaurants with upgrades including exterior signage, digital menu boards, catering van wraps, drive thru boards and store remodels.
 
3. Barbecue Focus: the brand has opted to stop expanding five of its non-barbecue concepts and retire licensing agreements outside its traditional franchise system. Dickey’s has opted to terminate and transition non-compliant restaurants, both traditional and licensed locations. Dickey’s has also expanded its brand champion program of giving 20% of royalties back to Dickey’s Barbecue Franchisees that meet brand standards and achieve operational, barbecue excellence.
 
4. Giving Back: the brand kicks off anniversary celebrations with exclusive rewards for Big Yellow Cup rewards members. Their iconic Big Yellow Cup pink to support breast cancer with a portion of all pink cup sales in October going to fund breast cancer screening in first responders. Finally, the brand will host their annual Denim & Diamonds event for The Dickey Foundation in order to raise over $250,000 to support grants for first responders in their local restaurant communities.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Celebrates 83rd Anniversary with a Focus on Menu, Franchisee Success and Giving Back

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Raleigh has been scheduled for 11 a.m. at 6552 Glenwood Ave. on Tuesday, September 25. The first 100 customers will receive a free Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwich. “The
community has been really supportive and has been patiently waiting for us to open,” said franchise owner Eric Davis. “Raleigh is home from all walks of life and barbecue is a mainstay.” This is the
first Dickey’s franchise opportunity for Eric Davis and the second franchise for Raleigh. This will be the eleventh Dickey’s location in North Carolina. The franchise plans on opening new locations
