Doug began his barbecue journey by taking over the [Madison Street location in Clarksville, TN](https://www.dickeys.com/locations/tennessee/clarksville/clarksville), in August 2022. “The Madison location had a challenging reputation,” Keenum recalls. “We brought that one back to life, and now it’s getting great feedback from our guests.”
 
Building on this success, Keenum opened a new Dickey’s location on [Fort Campbell Blvd. in Clarksville](https://www.dickeys.com/locations/tennessee/clarksville/clarksville-fort-campbell) in July 2024, just a stone’s throw from the local military base. “This store has been an exciting addition,” says Keenum. “We’re working hard to introduce our brand to more of the Clarksville community and make this location a favorite among military families.”
 
In August 2024, Keenum expanded again, taking over an existing location in Brentwood, TN, just outside Nashville. “This location is another opportunity to make a positive impact,” says Keenum. “We’re focused on improving operations and creating a welcoming environment for our guests.”

## Tailgating with the Vikings


Dickey’s brought their delicious barbecue experience straight to Minnesota Vikings fans during the tailgating festivities at the Vikings vs. Detroit Lions football game. Football enthusiasts enjoyed samples of Dickey’s smoked meats and creamy mac and cheese while learning about their catering services. They even featured a giant Vikings helmet for fans to snap memorable photos. Franchisee Hannah Davis expressed, “This was our first year bringing Dickey’s to Vikings tailgating, and we couldn’t be happier with the warm reception we received. We plan to make this an annual tradition!”
 
## Trunk or Treat in North Branch


Earlier this fall, Dickey’s was thrilled to participate in North Branch’s Trunk or Treat event, connecting with nearly 900 attendees. “We loved seeing all the costumes and the smiles on kids' faces,” said Davis. “Giving out treats like candy, branded frisbees, can koozies, and more allowed us to meet families, introduce them to our barbecue, and share our catering options. It was great exposure, and we’re excited to do even more next year!”
 
## Feeding and Thanking Our Local Heroes


At Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, supporting local heroes is at the heart of what they do. Hannah and her team recently had the honor of donating a classic buffet-style meal to the North Branch Fire Department during one of their monthly meetings. The 26 fire department members enjoyed a hearty spread that included smoked pulled pork, chopped brisket, mac and cheese, barbecue beans, baked potato casserole, cabbage slaw, and Texas toast. “We are beyond grateful for the dedication and service of our local first responders,” said Davis. “This meal was our way of showing our appreciation for their hard work in keeping our community safe.”

DALLAS, TX (November 7, 2024) –The Dickey Foundation’s 3rd Annual Denim & Diamonds fundraiser sparkled brighter than ever, bringing together over 250 attendees and raising an impressive $230,000 to support our nation’s first responders. Held at The Empire Room in Dallas, this record-setting event blended glamorous style, heartfelt giving, and a shared commitment to those who protect our communities every day.

The evening featured a unique and dazzling Champagne Diamond Bar provided by Carter Malouf, while the popular Beer Burro stole the show, delighting guests with its craft selections and creating buzz as attendees lined up for photos. Guests enjoyed delicious food curated by Dickey’s very own world-renowned chef Matt Burton. Entertainment included lively performances by the popular band 90 Proof and engaging live line dancing from Everlasting Dance, keeping spirits high throughout the night. Guests and supporters came together to celebrate, connect, and raise funds, reinforcing The Dickey Foundation’s ongoing mission to equip and support first responders with vital resources.

The Dickey Foundation was founded by Maurine Dickey, former Dallas County Commissioner, following the tragic night in 2016 when 14 officers were injured or lost their lives in a shooting in Downtown Dallas. "Our goal is to continuously provide the necessary support to ensure first responders’ safety and success in the communities they serve."

Barbecue.™ to Ontario, Canada. This partnership, led by Ibrahim Daniyal, President of Hayder Smokey Barbecue, along with Shyan Hayder, Shahrez Hayder, Jibreel Adnan, and Hamza Hayder marks a significant expansion for Dickey’s into the Canadian market with plans for multiple locations.

Ibrahim Daniyal is the embodiment of the "Canadian Dream." Immigrating to Canada from Pakistan in 2001 with his wife and two children, Ibrahim arrived with less than $200 in his pocket. Despite the immense challenges, he worked tirelessly to support his family by studying during the day and working odd jobs at night, including driving a taxi and working for free at financial institutions through a co-op program. His wife, Samina, helped by opening a beauty salon as a street vendor in downtown Toronto.

Now, alongside his sons Shyan and Shahrez Hayder, his brother Jibreel Adnan and nephew Hamza Hayder, Ibrahim is set to increase Dickey’s Barbecue Pit deeper into Ontario and also with locations planned across major cities such as Ottawa, Kingston, London, St. Thomas, Chatham, and Windsor.

The partnership’s primary focus is to introduce Dickeys franchise barbecue concept in a way that honors the local culture while upholding the traditions that make Dickey’s beloved.
