## World’s largest barbecue concept signs agreement to open first Toronto location this summer
 
DALLAS (March 29, 2022) – [Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. Texas. Barbecue.™ to Toronto! With this addition, Dickey’s Barbecue continues to move Texas Style BBQ into the international cuisine category. 

This announcement comes on the heels of Dickey’s recent agreement to open its first Canada location in Alberta. Toronto’s first Dickey’s is slated to open this summer, bringing Texas Style BBQ further across the northern border. 

Anand Desai, a 15-year veteran in the governance, risk and control space, was driven towards the restaurant business by his passion to serve the members of his local community. Anand is joined by his partner, Sharmistha Ghosh, who brings a plethora of experience managing and running a successful restaurant in Toronto. Currently, Sharmistha works for a local brand in the city, where she is responsible for day-to-day operations and serves as a franchise coordinator. The duo credits their decision to partner with Dickey’s to the tremendous support system offered during the initial phases of franchise operations along with the brand’s proven success with international franchising.

Dickey’s Unveils New Website & App Enhancements for Better Experience

## World’s largest barbecue concept donates $7,500 grant for tactical robot to better protect local first-responders from high-risk situations

NEWARK, Ohio (March 21, 2022) – [The Dickey Foundation](https://www.thedickeyfoundation.org/) – the charitable arm of [Dickey’s Barbecue Pit](https://www.dickeys.com/) – is dedicated to being an active member of the communities it serves. 

On Wednesday, March 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Newark Police Headquarters (39 S. Fourth St., Newark, Ohio 43055), The Dickey Foundation will present a grant of $7,500 to help the Newark Police Department obtain a tactical robot that will keep its first responders safe during high-risk situations such as hostage rescues, armed and barricaded subjects, suspicious items and more.

In 2021, more than 70% of the Newark Police Department’s callouts involved a barricade or wanted person. With this new technology, the department will be able to safely communicate with individuals and transport mission-critical equipment.

Celebrate National Chili Day the Texas Barbecue Way with Dickey’s

*Grant will provide new air cushion and vehicle stabilization kits*
 
DALLAS (Feb. 17, 2022) – On Monday, February 21 at 11:30 a.m. at Apple Valley Fire Protection District Station 331 (22400 Headquarters Dr., Apple Valley, CA 92307), the [Dickey Foundation](https://www.thedickeyfoundation.org/) will present new air cushion and vehicle stabilization kits to the Apple Valley Fire Protection District. 

The Dickey Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, awards grants to provide first responders with critical personal protective equipment (PPE), safety gear and equipment they need to help make their job easier and, more importantly, safer.

Dickey’s Celebrates National Cheese Lovers Day in True Texas Style

World’s largest barbecue concept now offering Brisket Chili Walking Taco for a limited time
 
DALLAS (Dec. 15, 2021) – Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is putting its one-of-a-kind pitmaster touch onto the newest food craze — the walking taco!

The iconic barbecue brand has combined its fan-favorite Brisket Chili with Fritos® to create the Brisket Chili Walking Taco, a delicious crowd-pleaser that you can’t find anywhere else. This trendy take on the traditional Frito Pie, with Dickey’s smoked brisket chili, will be available through the end of February.

Dickey’s Adds Its Texas-Twist to the Walking Taco

Texas-style barbecue restaurant signs development agreement to add five more locations
 
DALLAS (Dec. 6, 2021) – [Dickey’s Barbecue Pit](https://www.dickeys.com/) is growing at a rapid pace as the world’s largest barbecue franchise continues its development push in the Northeast.
 
Dickey’s announced today that the company has signed a multi-unit area development agreement with Prosper Food Corporation. CEO and President John Malinconico led the negotiations for Prosper Food and recently signed the agreement to develop five Dickey’s multi-unit franchise locations over the next seven years. Malinconico is an accomplished entrepreneur with a background as a Commercial Banker/Underwriter. Prosper Food purchased its first existing Dickey’s location back in October in [Centereach, N.Y.](https://www.dickeys.com/locations/new-york/centereach/suffolk-centereach) The company also has plans to develop another four variations of Dickey’s throughout Suffolk County, N.Y.
