First responders are often first on the scene after a critical event like a car accident or violent crime. 

When seconds matter, having a quality first aid kit can make the difference between life and death. 

The Phoenix Police Department needs 500 first aid kits to put one in each police vehicle. The kits cost around $50.00 each. 

To help the Phoenix Police Foundation reach this goal [The Dickey Foundation](https://www.thedickeyfoundation.org/) will match up to $7,500 in donations. “We hope The Dickey Foundation donation helps inspire others to give and help support the police officers in the community” says Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “We have great Owner/Operators in the Phoenix market including Tiffany Oder who is helping with the Challenge Announcement at her Dickey’s Barbecue Pit location where they will challenge the public to raise funds to receive the matching grant of $7,500.” Adds Dickey.

Texas-style barbecue restaurant signs area development agreement to add 48 locations over the next five years

[Dickey’s Barbecue Pit](www.dickeys.com) is continuing to grow at a rapid pace as the world’s largest barbecue franchise embarks on a huge development push in the Northeast.

Dickey’s announced today that the company has signed a multi-unit area development agreement with Chaac Foods, LLC. CEO and President Luis Ibarguengoytia led the negotiations for Chaac Foods and signed the agreement this week to develop 48 Dickey’s locations in five years. Ibarguengoytia, a veteran restaurant operator, has teamed with Gauge Capital to form Chaac Foods, which currently develops and operates Pizza Hut and Bojangles restaurants.

“We look forward to entering the barbecue category by joining forces with the world’s fastest growing barbecue franchise,” said Ibarguengoytia. We were drawn to Dickey’s Barbecue Pit because of the flexibility offered with various operational formats, including traditional stand-alone stores, virtual locations and food trucks. We plan on opening several variations of Dickey’s, particularly in the higher rent districts. The flexibility makes this deal an attractive opportunity when seeking to develop multiple locations during a dynamic time in the restaurant industry.” 

Chaac Foods considers its relationship with Dickey’s as an integral part of its plans for expansion.

Earlier this year, Dickey’s transformed its iconic Big Yellow Cup into the Golden 80th Anniversary Big Yellow Cup Edition. Dickey’s will continue to release commemorative, limited-edition cups totaling six throughout the year to celebrate its 80th anniversary. All of the limited-edition cups support The Dickey Foundation.

Although it’s a national foundation, the support is intensely local. Levelland’s local Dickey’s has used the funds raised from the Big Yellow Cup sales to donate two rehab cooling stations to the Levelland Fire Department. The donation took place at Levelland’s fire station on Aug. 2.

The Dickey Foundation Makes Donation to the Levelland Fire Department

Dickey’s opened 63 locations in Q2 alone, three of which were overseas throughout Singapore, Japan and Yas Mall in United Arab Emirates, bringing the brand’s international location total to six. 
 
In July, as part of Dickey’s international expansion strategy, the barbecue franchise promoted Jim Perkins to executive vice president of international sales and support to build out the company’s global identity, structure and culture. The Texas-style barbecue brand expects to open three additional international locations in the third quarter.
 
Along with making impressive international strides in Q2, Dickey’s Restaurant Brands – Wing Boss and Big Deal Burger – increased the number of locations they’re operated out of by 24%, and Wing Boss is set to make its standalone brick-and-mortar debut in September. The average unit volume for both virtual brands continues to surge monthly with sales increasing 315% from March to June.

Dickey’s Propels Significant International Growth in Q2 Texas-style barbecue restaurant opened three international and 63 total locations in the  second quarter

Do you have what it takes to be the opening band at the Dickey’s 80th Anniversary Party in Dallas, Texas at The Rustic on October 28, 2021? If you're a first responder and play in a band, we want you to apply! 
 
The Dickey Foundation helps protect first responders by providing life-saving equipment and overall support for law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and other first responders.. Dickey’s 80th Anniversary Party is raising funds to support The Dickey Foundation and local first responders. What better way to show gratitude by inviting first responder musicians to open the festivities? 
 
“The 80th Anniversary Party celebrates those who put their lives on the front lines for us every day, plus eight decades of family and Legit. Texas. Barbecue. of course!” says Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. 
 
Established in 2016, The Dickey Foundation helps provide the resources firefighters and police officers need to serve and protect the public. The Foundation has donated more than $200,000 in lifesaving equipment and tools to departments across the country. “While The Dickey Foundation is a national organization, our impact is intensely local,” says Betsy Orton, Executive Director of The Dickey Foundation. “We hope to spotlight local first responders with this opportunity. This Anniversary party supports the Foundation, and we hope to have a lot of bands vying to be part of this special event.”
 
Interested in serving as the opening band for Dickey’s 80th Anniversary party?
Any band with at least one member who is a first responder (defined as law enforcement, fire department or EMS) active or retired is eligible to apply. The winning band not only will open the party with a 30-minute set, but also will receive a stipend of $1,000.
