Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is thrilled to continue expanding their hickory smoked, barbecue pits in the greater Calgary area.

The Texas-style barbecue brand has entered into a multi-store agreement with local restaurant franchisor, Gaurand Modh to bring Dickey’s Legit. Texas. Barbecue to the great people of the province of Alberta. Gaurang will open his first store in Taber Alberta, where he is currently a resident and expand into additional communities nearby. With his previous franchise experience, Mr. Modh believes the Taber location will be a great success and is confident the residents will welcome this historic barbecue experience.

Dickey’s Barbecue offering Sandwich Deal and FREE Delivery in Dallas/Fort Worth Stores

The Dickey Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, hit the road in May and donated first responder equipment grants in both Kansas and Illinois.

On Thursday, May 2nd, The Dickey Foundation visited the Montgomery County Sherrif’s Office in Independence, KS where they partnered up with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Owner/Operator Gary Hogsett to provide an $11,000 grant to support the department in purchasing law enforcement specific drones for interior tactics and additional safety of the officers.

A few weeks later, the Dickey Foundation traveled to Waukegan, IL to provide the Waukegan Fire Department with a grant valued at more than $10,000 for ballistic vests and helmets for the paramedics that will help keep them safe when responding to potentially dangerous situations.

“The Dickey Foundation is grateful to continue supporting the brave men and women of first responder teams across the country,” said Roland Dickey Jr., CEO Dickey’s Capital Group. “We look forward to collaborating with more Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Owner/Operators and their local community heros in the future.”

The Dickey Foundation Gives Grants in Kansas and Illinois

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is bringing some additional flavor to their catering menu with three fan favorites. 

On May 23rd, the barbecue brand launched three new menu items to their already popular catering line up including two of their most popular catering options, Dickey's Sliders and the Dickey’s Baker Bar. In addition, the Texas-style barbecue band is adding a delicious and cheesy Mac and Cheese Bar! 

Baker Bar: The Baker Bar will start by serving 10 people with the option to add additional bakers. Guests can choose a Baker Bar with or without Dickey’s pit smoked meat! The baker bar includes: 10 Potatoes, 1 pint of Sour Cream, 1 pint of Butter, 1 ½ pint of Shredded Cheese, Diced Green Onion, 1 ½ pints of guest’s choice of BBQ Sauce (original, sweet, spicy), 2 lbs. of guest’s choice protein (if selected). 

Mac N Cheese Bar: The Mac N Cheese Bar will also start out by serving 10 people with the option to add additional guests. It will be available to order with or without meat. The Mac n Cheese Bar will include: 1 ½ bags of Mac and Cheese, 1 ½ lbs. of Shredded Cheese, 1 ½ lbs. of Bacon Pits, 1 1/3 lbs. of Baked Beans, 1 Pint of Green Onions, 1 Pint of BBQ Sauce (original, sweet, spicy), ½ pint of Jalapenos, 2 lbs. of meat of the guest’schoice (optional), 10 empty Pint cups for serving.

Dickey’s Sliders: Each Slider Platter will serve 12 people, withthe guest being able to choose one meat per platter. Each Slider Platter will come with 24 buns, 3 labs of one meat choice (2 oz per slider), 1 Pint BBQ Sauce (Regular, Spicy, or Sweet), Pickles, and Onion slices.

This year, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will recognize hardworking teachers and nurses across the country with a barbecue treat in honor of Nurse Appreciation and Teacher Appreciation Week.

Starting on Monday, May 6th, the Texas-style barbecue brand will be launching their upgraded Big Yellow Cup Rewards Program that is full of delicious enhancements including:

In October of 2023, accomplished chef Matthew Burton continued his industry career by joining Dickey’s Restaurant Brands, Inc. as their Director of R&D & Corporate Executive Chef.
 
With nearly 30 years of notable performance, chef Matthew Burton brings his extensive knowledge of flavors and culinary creativity to the world’s largest barbecue brand. He has quickly made an impressive impact at Dickey’s by enhancing the historic brand's famous baked potato casserole, reforming their impressive Barbecue University training program, as well as ensuring the Dickey’s renowned, championship culture is present throughout their stores.
