Irvine Gets a Taste of Texas with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Grand Opening

Owner/Operator Doug Dubin has invested in the entire Las Vegas area and parts of Southern California


                


 (Las Vegas, NV) Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has executed a new development agreement for eight stores, with six to open in Nevada and two in Southern California. Originally from Montana, Owner/Operator
 Doug Dubin intends his investment to be a family business. His family has three generations of restaurant experience, and the fact that Dickey’s is still owned and operated by its founding family
 was a clear selling point as Dubin looked for franchise
 concepts.                           


  


 Having personally experienced job scarcity resulting from the economic downturn, Dubin relocated his family to Pahrump, Nevada and became a car salesman. “We are opening a business because we want
 to provide career opportunities for our family and other families,” Dubin says. “We chose to invest in Dickey’s not only because of the reasonable franchise fees, but because of the level of
 support. I always know that someone at the home office will answer the phone when I call.” Dubin’s entire family plans to work in the new stores. His wife, brother and three daughters will all help
 manage the operations, and Dubin’s stores will hopefully be a future place of employment for his two young nephews as well.


  


 Dubin will open his first two stores in Pahrump and Summerlin, NV in 2016. Eventually Dubin will open six stores in the Las Vegas Valley and two in Southern California.

 learners and beyond. The new in-store job titles are Pit Boss, Pit Master and Pit Crew, and reflect the levels of leadership and a clear path to management for workers at all levels.


 The new program has tossed the conventional restaurant training method that relies on textbooks and forms, and has implemented tools which reach learners by using proven curriculum design methods
 such as short videos, facts without fluff, faster and simpler training modules and an aesthetically pleasing design. “Dickey’s new way of training drives our core values of energy, speed and

Dickey's Barbecue Launches New Store Training Program

Owner/Operator Dan Pelfrey has opened two stores and will soon open a third in the summer of 2016


                


 (Pasco, WA) Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is growing rapidly throughout the Pacific Northwest and will soon open its 21st Washington location in the city of Pasco. The new store is the third store to open in a three-store development agreement that
 includes stores in Richland and Kennewick.


 Originally from Southeast Texas, Owner/Operator Dan Pelfrey has always been a barbecue fan. A former college football star in Utah, he majored in entrepreneurship
 with the idea that one day he would start a business. He worked for many years in logistics and operations which brought him to Washington State. Pelfrey began researching franchise options after
 corporate layoffs, and chose to invest in Dickey’s because of his many years in the foodservice industry and his extensive research on food-based franchises. His deciding factor was the level of

As the only female on the elected body of decision makers, Young shares insights and experiences from her council role

 (Dallas, TX) The restaurant operations field tends to be a boys’ club often times, but Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Owner / Operator Gina Young defies gender stereotypes as the only female in an elected
 position. NFAAC, or National Franchisee Advertising Advisory Council, is Dickey’s elected council of six Owner/Operators who make system-wide decisions on everything from advertising strategy to
 limited time offers.


 Young started her barbecue career in 2012, when she opened her first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Olympia, Washington. Previously a stay-at-home mom with no restaurant experience, Young benefitted from
 the extensive training support from day one. She hired her brother Rob Williams, a volunteer fire fighter, to be her general manager, and now has a very successful store.


 In 2015 Young was nominated for the position in NFAAC. Her region consists of every store on the West Coast, and every Owner/Operator casts a vote. She was elected by a landslide and began the
 position in September. “I feel right at home here, and it is empowering to know I am the only female on the board,” Young says. “I appreciate this opportunity to interact closely with the brand and
 help make decisions that impact the whole company, while representing fellow Owner/Operators.”


 As a NFAAC representative, Young’s responsibilities include championing the brand while advocating for the Owner/Operators whom she represents. The council works on cost and profit measures, menu
 changes and other brand initiatives. The biggest moment for Young, however, was the launch of the new generation prototype store in late 2015. Launched a month after she took the position, Young
 was able to travel to Dallas and get a personal tour of the new concept from CEO, Roland Dickey, Jr.

Grand opening to feature $2 sandwiches, free
 barbecue for a year and gift card giveaways

 Florida location this week with specials and giveaways. On Thursday, the first 50 guests will receive gift cards worth up to $50 and the next 100 guests will get a free quarter plate with the
 purchase of a Big Yellow Cup. The celebration continues Friday with a free Big Yellow Cup of Tea for the first 100 guests and barbecue giveaways and on Saturday the store will sell $2 pulled pork
 sandwiches from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Three lucky guests will win free barbecue for a year and one will win a $500 gift card!

 the store will give away free Dickey’s goodies all day.


 Saturday, December 19 the new store will serve guests a barbecue bargain with

 sandwiches</a> from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. One
