(Independence, MO) University of Kansas graduate, Ryan Wenrich, is opening his fifth Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Independence this week. The largest barbecue chain in the nation, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, will offer specials and giveaways for guests all weekend including gift cards, merchandise and free barbecue for a year for three lucky winner. “Our grand openings are a great way to get the community excited,” said Roland Dickey, Jr., CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “There is a huge demand for slow-smoked barbecue in this area and we are thrilled for Ryan and the opening of his fifth location.”
The three-day grand opening includes:
· Thursday, Sept. 10 kicks off with the first 50 guests receiving gift cards worth up to $50.
· Friday, Sept. 11, radio station KCFX 101 ‘The Fox’ will be on-site from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and the new store will serve guests a barbecue bargain with $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. One lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year.
· Saturday, Sept. 12, guests can grab Dickey’s Barbecue goodies with all day merchandise giveaways.
Ryan Wenrich became a Dickeys Owner / Operator in 2002, when he and his brother left corporate jobs to go into business together. Since then, he has flourished in the Fast Casual restaurant business. He is excited to bring Texas-style barbecue to the community of Independence. “There might be some competition with Kansas City – style barbecue, but I know the people here appreciate great food,” Wenrich says. “We love all types of barbecue as long as it’s good and Dickey’s is the best.”
