  DoorstepDelivery, Food Dudes Delivery and Postmates, according to a company press release. Dickey’s has also joined the catering marketplace ezCater.</span>

  Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc. continues to expand nationwide with a development agreement recently signed for five additional stores in the state of Washington. The new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
  stores will be located throughout eastern Washington in the Spokane region. Owner-operator Mark Engberson has partnered with Palouse Restaurant Group to open the five new stores. Together the group
  owns a variety of fast casual and quick-serve concepts including Carl’s Jr., Subway, Wingstop, and more. With more than 80 years of combined experience in franchise foodservice, they have the skill

Fastest growing barbecue chain signs on for major Ohio expansion

  Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc. has just executed two development agreements with a family franchisee team in Ohio and northern Kentucky, totaling 13 stores. Brothers Kevin and Randy Daniel
  recently added eight stores to an existing five-store agreement signed earlier with their team of investors. This is one of the largest development agreements into which the barbecue chain has
  engaged. With eight stores currently located in Ohio, this deal will effectively double the national barbecue chain’s footprint in The Buckeye State.

  Owner-operators Kevin and Randy Daniel currently own two stores in Mason and South Lebanon, Ohio, and are working on opening their third. Initially, the Daniel brothers signed a five-store
  agreement, but then decided to take the leap to own the entire market. “Randy and I have been in business together most of our lives,” Kevin says. “We love to work with people and develop them to
  their full potential.” The brothers chose to invest with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit because of the quality product and great ongoing support for their franchisees.

  Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is redefining its sustainability practices with the help of Tamala Fowler, the company’s newly appointed VP of Purchasing and Research and Development.

  Dickey’s sold more than <span style="font-style: italic;">28 million pounds of smoked meat</span> last year in it’s almost 500 stores. Aside from grocery stores, this company is also the largest
  purchaser of brisket in the U.S. With that amount of volume, Dickey’s sees sustainability as key.

  According to the company, Fowler is in a unique position that covers a wide range from R&amp;D to sourcing the millions of pounds of meat. She is also over the company’s product roll out to grocery
  stores, which currently consists of rolls, but sill soon include <span style="font-style: italic;">chips, barbecue sauce, brisket rub, sausage and more</span>.

  At present, Fowler and her team are researching the science of more eco-friendly and health-conscious barbecue. In a press release, Dickey’s said that Fowler is working to fine-tune the company’s
  processes to create more sustainable barbecue through new, creative uses of firewood and heat.

  The team has also been working to <span style="font-style: italic;">remove sodium nitrate and nitrite</span> from Dickey’s sausage to ensure taste and health wherever possible.

  Looking to the future, Fowler anticipates exciting developments in the food industry that she hopes to put in place at Dickey’s. With antibiotic-free meat and cleaner ways of smoking and
  preparation, Fowler intends to bring a more healthful approach to barbecue.

  Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, the first 50 guests received gift cards worth up to $50. On Friday, the restaurant gave away goodies and merchandise and even had a radio station on-site
  Saturday to cap off the three-day celebration.

  The first Dickey's Barbecue Pit to open on a military installation began service this week in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. As part of its opening celebration three lucky grand-opening attendees
  will win free barbecue for a year.

  Col. Andy Herbst, U.S. Army Garrison commander at Fort Leonard Wood, cut the ribbon at the grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 27.

  Owner/operator, Danessa Williams spent 17 years in the corporate fast food business when she decided to become her own boss. She looked for a franchise that offered quality, delicious ingredients
  served with a side of southern hospitality, and found her niche with Dickey's Barbecue Pit.

  A Lebanon native, Williams has already opened one other Dickey's store in the area.<br>
